Material and Testing (Concrete), is an online course designed to provide knowledge to the Authorized Nuclear Inspector performing concrete inspections, and is comprised of information on concrete theory, chemical properties of concrete, constituent testing and required testing, and applicable testing standards.

Learning Outcomes
After completing this course, students will be able to:  

  • Review terminology associated with concrete constituent materials and testing.
  • Recall certification for materials.
  • Describe the types of tests required to be performed on concrete constituent.
  • Identify specific ASTM standards and test methods required by ASME Section III, Division 2.
  • Review applicable acceptance standards.

Reference Materials
Although not required, each student may find it helpful to have the following materials (currently mandated edition):

  • ASME Section III, Subsection NCA, General Requirements for Division 1 and Division 2
  • ASME Section III, Div. 2,  Code for Comcrete Concrete Containment

Criteria for Successful Completion
As a minimum, for a National Board Certificate of Completion to be issued, students must:
