Course Information General Information

Material Organizations and Suppliers (NCA-3800), is an online course designed for the Authorized Nuclear Inspector, with a focus on specific ASME Section III Code requirements for Class 1 components. Beyond teminology and definitions as related to Material Organizations, also included in this training is information on quality system program requirements and responsibilities, certification requirements for materials and services, and how to apply the code requirements for Certificate Holders, Material Organizations, and Suppliers.

Learning Outcomes
After completing this course, students will be able to:  

  • Identify the three entities as specified in ASME Section III, NCA-3800 related to the Material Organization's responsibilities.
  • Recognize the terms used in NCA-3800 as defined in the Glossary (NCA-3800).
  • Describe Quality System Program requirements and responsibilities related to traceability of materials and services, process control, and approving and controlling operations.
  • State the evaluation, qualification, and certification requirements for Material Organizations.
  • Explain the certification requirements for materials and services.
  • Apply the Code requirements for Certificate Holders, Material Organizations, and supplies using material and service scenarios.

  • ASME Section III, Subsection NCA, Rules for Construction of Nuclear Facility Components
  • ASME Section III, Div. 1, Subsection NB, Rules for Construction of Nuclear Facility Components
  • ASME Section II, Part A, Ferrous Material Specifications

Criteria for Successful Completion
