ASME Section X: An Overview of
Class I and
Class II Vessels, is an online course designed to introduce the
student to fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) vessels and discusses the rules
and requirements found in ASME Section X, including the roles of the Fabricator
and the Manufacturer and how to verify
compliance during construction, qualification, and testing of FRP vessels. Beyond the requirements
of Section X, the student is introduced to what
a fiber-reinforced vessel is, fabrication methods and materials, design
requirements, testing, marking and stamping, as well necessary reports.

After completing this course, students will be able to:
Explain what Section X fiber-reinforced
plastic (FRP) pressure vessels are.
Describe
the acceptable methods used to manufacture FRP vessels.
Describe the design
qualification methods for FRP vessels.
Compare the duties and roles
of a Fabricator and a Manufacturer of FRP vessels.
Explain
the duties of an Authorized Inspector for Section X fabrication.
