Completing NBIC Repair
and Alteration Forms, is an online course designed to provide Repair Inspectors and
R Certificate Holders information regarding National Board
Inspection Code (NBIC) R
Forms for repairs and alterations. The
course outlines the Inspector's duties and relates them to
various system types that will be documented on each
type of repair form (R-1, R-2, R-3, and R-4).
The course details what is required to be entered into the fields of each
form, as well as provides several repair and alteration scenarios and their
subsequent repair form entries so students can review for accurate
documentation.

After completing this course, students will be able to:
Identify the various pressure-retaining item (PRI) ASME
Data Report Forms you may encounter
when verifying repairs and alterations.
Identify the correct repair and alteration NBIC
R Form and the R Certificate Holder shall
use
and list the rules for completing the Form.
State the Repair
Inspector (R) duties and actions required to verify
and/or complete repairs and alterations.
Recognize the sequence of signatures for various types of

Forms.

the stamping, certification, and records retention requirements for repairs
and alterations.
Verify
correct and accurate information required for entries on the four NBIC repair
and alteration forms, using real-life scenarios.
