National Board Inspection Code, Part 2, Inspection, is an online course designed to provide students with a broader understanding of the requirements of Part 2, Inspection, of the National Board Inspection Code. Once completed, students will have a fundamental understanding of the inspection of pressure-retaining items.

Learning Outcomes
After completing this course, students will be able to:  

  • Undertand the general requirements for conducting an inservice inspection of a pressure-retaining item.
  • Identify pre- and post-inspection activities.
  • Identify general and detailed inspection requirements to determine corrosion deterioration and possible prevention of failures for boilers, pressure vessel, piuping, and pressure relief valves.
  • Explain corrosion and failure mechanisms.
  • Understand examination, test methods, and evaluations.
  • Explain stamping, documentation, the forms required for inspection of pressure-retaining items.
