Welding
Symbols for Inspectors, is an online course designed to provide an overview of welding symbols
with an emphasis on how important it is to accurately interpret them.
This course describes and explains welding symbols
applied to engineering drawings that an Authorized Inspector will use to
verify actions, calculations, records, or personnel
qualifications.
Real-life examples of how inspectors can apply their knowledge of welding
symbols to enhance their job performance and accuracy is provided as a wrap-up
to this training.
Learning
Outcomes
After completing this course, students will be able to:
Recall the basic welding terms and definitions
according to ASME Section IX.
Identify situations where the Authorized Inspector (AI)
will use welding symbols to assist in execution of their
ASME and National Board required duties and responsibilities.
Utilize the AWS A2.4 welding symobl protocol to recognize
and
identify construction requirements as depicted on engineering drawings
and verified within specification packages.
