Heat Exchangers (UHX), this online course begins with a brief explanation of the various
types of heat exchangers, especially those an Authorized Inspector may
encounter. From there the course concentrates on the three types of ASME Section
VIII Shell-and-Tube heat exchangers: U-Tube, Fixed Tubesheet, and Floating
Tubesheet. In each
case, the course first describes many of the general design considerations and
characteristics. Then, it goes into specific design configurations and
the calculations for each type of Shell-and-Tube Heat Exchanger.
The course concludes with testing, marking, and reporting requirements.
